The Theater Lounge is the perfect setting for your cocktail housr, as well as an intimate reception or welcome party. The cocktail bar provides a view of the main Theater Auditorium overlooking your reception area. The room is decorated in a Mid-Century Modern style, with a starry ceiling, geometric bar front and a cool, comfortable vibe. There is direct access to a private deck and the Bearvsille Park, perfect for enjoying the views over the Sawkill Creek.

The Theater is lit by magnificent crystal chandeliers and art deco lighting making it the perfect atmosphere for your reception or dance party. It offers direct access to historic dressing rooms, and the VIP Green Room, where you are your wedding party can freshen up before your grand entrance. It is a versatile space with a stage, sunken bar and all the amenities that your live band or DJ may need.

Bearsville Theater Deck

The Park is situated on the banks of the magical Sawkill Creek, making it our most versatile location for your outdoor ceremony, reception, or next-day-brunch, this location is ideal for any aspect of your wedding. Our 16 acres include a forest area, a stone path the creek, a nature walk and a large field central to the property with ample room for tents of any proportion.

Our 40′ x 15′ Theater Deck adjoins the lounge and is the perfect space for gatherings as well as overflow from your cocktail hour or reception. The deck overlooks the Sawkill Creek and is named after two old friends – John Sebastian and Fred Neil – who hung out here in the 70’s, writing songs and making music together. John still enjoys the deck today.

The Bear Cafe
Club Utopia

Elegant and artistic, The Bear Cafe is an ideal venue for a rehearsal dinner, wedding breakfast, intimate dinner for two, or a family gathering, prior to, or after the big day. Large windows overlooking the Sawkill Creek provide lovely views of the stream and the adjoining dining area. Our walls are lined with photographs from Bearsvilles illustrious history, including never-before-printed pictures of ifluencial visitors such as Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, The Band and more contemporary musicians such as The Lumineers and The National.

Dance the night away at Club Utopia! A sleek high-ceilinged room for dancing after the main event. A service bar may be set up inside or outside and there are a small number of adjoining rooms available for VIP gatherings. Utopia can be configured with a stage for a live band or DJ. The sound system is second to none, Todd Rundgren made Utopia famous by producing some of the first-ever music videos for MTV right here.

The Janis Joplin Dressing Room
The Van Morrison Dressing Room

Our dressing room has everything you (and your make-up artist and hair stylist) need, including a three-person LED-lit, mirrored dressing table and a private bathroom and shower room. Relax on our luxurious wrap-around sofa and enjoy a glass of champagne or two.  Located below the main Theater, this room pays tribute to Janis Joplin, whose career was managed by Bearsville Founder Albert Grossman. A frequent visitor at the Grossman hone and a regular partier at the Bear Cafe, Janis came to Woodstock to recover and relax after touring and recording.

This dressing room is well-appointed with a bathroom including a shower, plus. atwo-person mirrored table and velvet sofa. Van Morrison arrived in Woodstock in 1969 to play the homespun Sound-Out festival on Pan’s Farm in West Sugerties. The songs of his timeless and beloved album, Moondance, came to life here, kindled by the spectacular view of the Ashokan Reservoir shown in the room as a full-size mural. The Dressing Rooms are below the stage with backstage access to make your grand entrance as a newly married couple!

The Green Room
The Peterson House

The Green Room is a beautiful, calming space for wedding preparations and pre-or-post celebration drinks with your bridal party and VIPs. The entranceway is across from the dressing rooms and is lined with a collage of photographs of the hidden people behind the success of Bearsville, including the engineeers, producers, administrators and builders who created Bearsville Center and Bearsville Studios. The heart of the room is the sitting area, a long luxurious velvet couch, floor cushions and easy chairs along with a working fireplace and fully fitted kitchen with laundry.

Safe space and entertainment for your younger guests. It’s so wonderful to have children at weddings – and even more so, if they can be entertained safely and enjoy some time out. The Peterson House front room is available upon request to entertain the children of your wedding guests. Your host, Nancy’s Artisanal Creamery and Bakery offers tasty home made icecreams on site. We can arrange for one of Woodstock’s talented children’s performers to entertain your younger guests.
